Autumn Elegance Styled Shoot at Brickhouse Vineyard

A day to remember. The Autumn Elegance Styled Shoot at Brickhouse Vineyard was such a wonderful experience - the venue is an incredible wedding location and we got to work with such a fantastic team of fellow suppliers.

HOW IT STARTED

The day began with a short road trip for Nick and me from North Devon, down to Brickhouse Vineyard. We had never been there before but had heard great things and so we were very excited to arrive. The moment we turned into the driveway the setting reminded us of being in the french countryside. It was a blue sky day and the views were amazing, with rows of vines gently blowing in a light breeze and although it was the first week of October the sun was warm on our skin - Heaven.

The setting for the photoshoot was just gorgeous. Brickhouse Vineyard and its buildings create the perfect backdrop for any wedding (take a look at their virtual tour and youโ€™ll see what I mean), and we arrived to find Tara (the photographer) and the other suppliers preparing the space for the day ahead.

Cottage Flowers had an incredible spread of blooms ready to arrange just outside the space, dresses from Kate Walker Bridal were hanging prettily ready for model Chelsea, and the table was being styled with gorgeous props from Keeping it Vintage Devon and stationery by Knots & Kisses.

We were so inspired and couldnโ€™t wait to get our cocktails ready. We had chosen cocktails that would compliment the elegant, gentle autumn theme and soft colour palette of soft golds, browns, yellows, oranges and pinks.

We did two cocktails for the shoot, and both would make a wonderful welcome drink or signature cocktail for an autumn wedding. The Soho Sling is a gin classic and makes a great, refreshing option for any couple who love gin, and the Fig & Fizz is a beautiful coupe number finished with a slice of fresh fig - stylish, sophisticated and light to drink - perfect!

The vintage glasses weโ€™re provided by Keeping it Vintage Devon. The delicate coupes really added a sense of elegance to the Fig & Fizz Cocktail, and the beautiful rocks glasses used for the Soho Sling gave the cocktail a special and sophisticated look.

We love making cocktails in keeping with the current season and produce/flavours, so this was such a great opportunity for us to have fun and get creative.

The cocktails made on the day were the real thing, and to make sure they looked super fresh for the photos they were made right at the last minute. It was so rewarding to see them placed for the photos, the Soho sling really finished off the table and the fig & fizz looked brilliant displayed on the oak barrels.

After a brilliant morning shoot we then had a delicious lunch and glass of wine from the estate, very kindly served to us by our host Jo, before continuing on with the rest of the shoot. All in all it was a wonderful day that we felt extremely honoured to be a part of.

Tara, our photographer, was just brilliant, she has such an eye for detail and captured every single element beautifully.

The Shoot has been published by Love My Dress and I thoroughly recommend you check out the full article here to see all of the beautiful photos and find out more about all of the wonderful suppliers - we hope you love it!

COCKTAIL 1: FIG & FIZZ

A classy little coupe number, this cocktail is just perfect for any autumn wedding. Made with homemade fig syrup, itโ€™s sweet and delicious yet light and refreshing all at the same time.

COCKTAIL 2: SOHO SLING

An absolute classic, we made the Soho sling with a great local gin - Salcombe Gin - and garnished with thinly sliced apple and sprigs of thyme.
